Admissions
Applicants for 9th Grade
 
1. Register for one (1) of the following admissions tests.
  • TACHS [Test for Admissions to Catholic High Schools] at www.tachsinfo.com (not available after November) 
  • ISEE [Independent School Entrance Test] at www.iseetest.org (available through the spring)
2. Complete a hardcopy application or file electronically no later than December 1, 2010 and submit the following:
  • Applicant Recommendations (see printable version of the application below) are required from a math teacher, a language arts teacher, and one other teacher or guidance counselor if you have one.
  • TACHS Applicant Record (with 1st 8th grade report card) completed by your elementary school teacher/guidance counselor or the equivalent of a completed 6th and 7th grade and 1st 8th grade report cards and standardized test record.  (Please note: Catholic elementary schools automatically do this.)
  • A personal essay (see Application)
  • Schedule either a 8th Grade Day at the Prep or a Parent Tour by calling 914-632-0714, press 213, and speak with Laurette Miccoli.
  • Please submit a Shadow Day Information Form prior to your visit.
  • Request or schedule an interview. Interviews are part of an applicant's day visit.
Applicants to Grades 10 through 11 (Iona does not accept 12th graders unless they are new to the area.)
 
1. Register for the ISEE test at www.iseetest.org (available through the spring)
2. Complete an Application - either online or in hardcopy.
3. Submit the following:
  • Letters of recommendation from a math and English teacher
  • Applicant Recommendation form (see printable version of the application below) is to be completed by a guidance counselor.
  • A personal essay (part of the Application)
  • Include high school transcript and most recent report card, but not before 3rd marking period.
  • Signed Athletic Eligibility statement (download form below)
  • Schedule a visit and an interview prior to filing application.
